You can write 12 books in the next 12 months. You might not do it. But you could. And I could. It would be good for me. It would change my whole life for the better. It would open up new opportunities. It would make my five-year-old self proud, who dreamed of being a writer.

I don’t know, if I’ll do it.

I’d love to. But when it comes to writing, I also love sabotaging myself.

I once wrote an article on Medium called “This is How to Make $100k / Year of Passive Income as a Writer”. It is my most-read article on Medium.

I still believe, that there’s a lot of truth in this article. And if I had practiced, what I preached 16 months ago, I’d now have 16 books published. I don’t dare to imagine, what my life would look like. I imagine, it would be a lot more interesting. And this makes me incredibly sad.

But I don’t want to feel the same, one year from now. Maybe you can relate.

Writing a book each month isn’t easy, even when you follow the tips, I gave in my article.

One way to make it easier, is to write 101 books using the method, James Altucher describes in this article (“HOW TO WRITE 12 BOOKS THIS YEAR”):

“Pick an area you love or pick an area you want to research.

Write ten new things about that area each day that are critical for understanding it better.

Each item should suprose you. As in, “I wish someone had told me this ten years ago”.

[…]

When you have 101 items, you have a first draft of a book.

Add descriptions.”

Because I believe anything James Altucher tells me, and because I’m also a fan of his “Idea Machine” practice, I made a list of 101 ideas for 101 books I could write.

I’d love for you to read through the list and highlight the books, you’d want to read.

There are some books on this list, that I’d love to write, and some that I’d hate to write, some that I’d love to read, and some that I don’t give a fuck about.

But I give you the power to decide. Highlight the books, you’d want to read and I’ll write the three most highlighted.
